Dark Skies at Newlands Corner
An evening celebrating outmost overlooked natural wonder: the night sky
Saturday 24 October, 7-9pm
Newlands Corner
Under the stars, we’ll explore how darker skies benefit wildlife, nature and our own wellbeing. From telescope viewing and creative experiences to quiet moments beneath the ancient yews, discover a different side of the Surrey Hills National Landscape.
Alongside telescope viewing and guided wellbeing walks, enjoy bat-inspired poetry and storytelling from Briony Hughes, and experience Moth x Human, a fascinating sound installation by composer Ellie Wilson inspired by the hidden lives of moths and our connection to the natural world.
Whether you’re gazing through a telescope, taking a mindful walk beneath the stars, or simply pausing to appreciate the stillness of the landscape after dark, this is a chance to experience the Surrey Hills from a new perspective.
This is a free public event, open to everyone but booking is required.
